What time does school start?

Students may enter the classroom at 7:20.  The tardy bell rings at 7:45.

 

What kinds of snacks are appropriate to bring to school?  What time is snack time? 

Please send a healthy, dry snack with your child or a snack with utensils included.  No messy or sugary snacks, please.  Snack time will be at approximately 9:00 AM each day. Your child may choose not to eat their snack at 9:00 if they find they are hungrier in the afternoon.  They may, instead, enjoy their snack at 12:30 during our silent reading time.

 

How can I get involved in my child’s classroom?  

Please make sure you are signed up in our RAPTOR system in the front office.  After you have done so, speak with Ms. Fielder about many of our class’s volunteer options:

field trip chaperone, Tuesday folder helper, bulletin board/cutting/laminating/copying helper, school party helper, science lab helper, reader for read-alouds, classroom mom or dad, Watchdog Dad!

 

 

How will I know about work that my child needs to re-do or a skill that they need extra practice on? 

Mrs. Fielder will send home graded work in your child’s daily folder on Tuesdays.  Please look through all graded work.  If any work needs to be re-done at home, a note will be attached to the assignment.  You will also find a note on any work that has been corrected in class.  Quick checks will be taken in class each week in math.  On quick checks your child has difficulty with, they will receive further instruction during our Texan Time the following week. If the skill is still challenging for your child, extra work on that math concept will be sent home for you to practice with your child if you wish.

 

Where can my child be picked up in the afternoon?
